The New Initiatives Committee (NIC) welcomes IEEE members, volunteers, and representatives from IEEE organizational units who have an idea for a new program, product, or service that could significantly impact IEEE members, the public, or a technical community, to share their vision with the committee. The New Initiatives program helps get projects started with seed funding or higher levels of financial support.

The NIC is especially interested in programs in these areas:

  • Increasing IEEE's connection to industry.
  • Engaging and recruiting members.
  • Creating innovative educational opportunities.
  • Increasing the visibility of IEEE and demonstrating its relevance to different communities.

There are no submission deadlines.

To learn more or to submit your idea, visit the program's Web page.

IEEE membership offers a wide range of benefits and opportunities for those who share a common interest in technology. If you are not already a member, consider joining IEEE and becoming part of a worldwide network of more than 400,000 students and professionals.
