News reports are surfacing that Facebook was hit today along with Twitter by a denial of service attack. Unlike Twitter, Facebook's website did not crash under the stress and some users reported that they did not even notice.
Facebook said at its blog site,
"You may have had trouble accessing Facebook earlier today because of network issues related to an apparent distributed denial-of-service attack. We have restored full access for most people. We’ll keep monitoring the situation to make sure you have the reliable experience you expect from us."
It appears that today is attack social network day. It will be interesting to see if another social network reports being hit today as well.
