Soccer authorities have flirted with goal-line technology for years and years. Now, it seems, they’re finally ready to commit. Questionable goals in Premier League matches that would once be the subject of conspiracy theories will no longer be up for debate. The unblinking eyes of 14 cameras, part of the Hawk-Eye ball tracking system used for line calls in professional tennis matches, will relay the result to watches worn by referees within a second after the ball crosses the goal line.
