What’s in a Letter: A typical lowercase “g” has a lower bowl that angles down, as seen in the Perpetua font at right; this angle is hard to render in pixels, especially at small sizes. The “g” in the new Cambria font included with Microsoft Windows Vista, by contrast, was designed with stronger horizontal lines, which make the font look cleaner onscreen.
