I'm Susan Hassler, editor-in-chief of Spectrum Magazine and keeper of this blog. Keeper is a good word here since my hope is that the thought provoking articles that appear in my favorite magazine and on Spectrum online will unloose reader opinion in the form of online letters to the Editor and online comments from you, our reader.

The mission of this blog is to extend IEEE Spectrum's editorial to include the yeah, nay and hey (you forgot something) sayers. I promise to be as diligent as possible at posting your letters and comments.

But, not every single letter and comment will get posted; some might be a little too visceral. Others may be too verbose and need editing, in which case I will post the kernels and lose the shells.
