Augmented Reality: Adding 3D Animation to Realtime Video

Augmented Reality is where live video is modified with additional software generated objects. These objects could be comparative price lists for shopping moms at a grocery store, repair manuals for mechanics underneath a car, or interactive life-like characters at history museums. We have been hearing a lot about 'Augmented Reality' in the press, but before now it was technology unavailable to the every day person. Software has publicly been released to augment your reality. To find more information on the software and how you can do this at home, visit the ARToolKit website. The following video is an example of it in action.
